I will dominate 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two-time unified title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will damage his features and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally famous for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK rival Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's largest financial successes, frequently receiving substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in round four or five and asserted he would derail the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters met for the usual face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the match is really going ahead.
